Services that are delivered for young people should be built around them, with their needs routinely sought and actioned. Although completing an evaluation at the end of the service is useful for future changes, it is too late for that individual! The voice of young people is central to the successful engagement of any organisation and working with them from the start ensures they receive a relevant service throughout.

All about me

My name is Lynne Meechan, I live in Hampshire and I am an experienced participation and engagement youth consultant, with strategic and operational skills.
I have spent 25 years developing new initiatives, managing projects and working in a multi-agency partnership style. My specialist skills are establishing forums such as Youth Councils and Youth Commissions, where young people can drive their own agenda, create social action and influence the organisation they are a part of.

My role is to engage and support young people to have all the skills they need to carry out their roles successfully, whilst championing them to others.

I am a passionate believer that engaging young people in their community, ensures they feel a valued part of where they live and brings benefits to not only those immediately involved, but has a wider ripple effect.
